Science Day - 8th March 2016
Science was the theme of the day yesterday when we had the opportunity to have real life scientists come and visit us at Lowtown.
The children delved in to the world of earthquakes and volcanoes with Professor Tim Wright and constructed their own 3D buildings to withstand an earthquake - with a little help from straws and marshmallows! The children were encouraged to explore different ideas and shapes with varying levels of success!
Dr Christina Tuinea-Bobe visited years 5 and 6 to emphasize the importance of dental hygiene and even had the chance to explore acids and alkalis. They saw the world on a smaller scale through Dr Tuinea-Bobe's impressive microscope!
