Music
Our music programme promotes children’s personal expression, reflection and emotional development. It helps develop a sense of group identity and togetherness. At Lowtown, we want to offer a high quality music education which should engage and inspire our children to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, as well as increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. As an integral part of culture, past and present, it helps children understand themselves and relate to others, forging important links between the home, school and the wider world. We want the teaching of music to develop pupils’ ability to listen and appreciate a wide variety of music and to make judgements about musical quality.
