Pupil Premium Offer

The pupil premium is additional funding received by schools for each pupil form disadvantaged families or backgrounds. It is allocated to schools based on the number of children who come from low-income families – this is defined as those who are known to be eligible for free school meals.

Pupil premium is also received for:

  • Children who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years
  • Children in the care of the Local Authority
  • Adopted children
  • Children of armed forces personnel

This money is to be used to improve the educational attainment of children from less privileged backgrounds. We have used the money to employ additional staff to work with children to raise their attainment. This additional support happens within the classroom and during intervention groups to work on specific skills.
